MOSS

It does not do well

to dwell on it

the green moss

on the rocks

the day we went

to the cemetery

because it rains often

often a lot

often a lot more

but the sunshine

it came through

the large fancy

very many tombstones

and the trees

towering over us

maybe I should have

listened

to my cautious nature

over my reckless one

That moss is slippery

and so the things

that build around it

that build around it

often slide through

and decay
